Increase in Minimum Wages

National minimum wage rates have increased from 1 April 2021 by about 2.2%. In addition, the qualifying age for the top rate (referred to as the National Living Wage) shall be reduced from 25 years to 23 years. The full figures are as follows:

  • 23 and over (NLW): £8.91

  • 21 to 22: £8.36

  • 18 to 20: £6.56

  • Under 18: £4.62

  • Apprentices: £4.30
