New employment rights which take effect from April 2026 include:

  • Day One rights for Paternity and Parental Leave

  • Day One rights for Statutory Sick Pay, abolishing the three "waiting days" which previously applied

  • Removal of the qualifying threshold for Statutory Sick Pay

  • Bereaved Partner's Paternity Leave

  • Changes to the law in relation to sexual harassment disclosures

  • Trade Union recognition reforms
