New Living and Minimum Wage

A final reminder that the minimum wage rates apply from 1 April 2019. A full break down of the new rates is provided below.

National Living Wage: Workers aged over 25

1 April 2019 - £8.21

Standard adult rate: Workers aged between 21 and 24

1 April 2019 - £7.70

Youth development rate: Workers aged 18–20

1 April 2019 - £6.15

Workers aged 16–17

1 April 2019 - £4.35

Apprentices who are 16–18 years old or aged 19 or over but in the first 12 months of the apprenticeship

1 April 2019 - £3.90

Apprentices aged 19 and over and not in their first year as an apprentice will qualify for the standard adult rate or youth development rate, depending on age.
